One of the best deals in the Bay Area: $40 Prix Fixe dinners at Mama Oakland! That doesn't include the delicious foccacia or the added meatballs or any drinks, but it does include tip and three courses! What makes the deal even more enticing is that the food is really, really good.

Simply the best as always! At least our 5th time back last night, first time sitting outside and was actually so lovely with the warm heater. And surprisingly quiet at 5:45p 🤩. the mushroom risotto… just absolutely changed my life 😭. 🙏🏾 Thank you again to the entire Mama team! Everyone from start to finish, Even the server in training who was shadowing our server, was lovely, helpful, and kind. I just love you all so much and am so grateful to be neighbors with you! A true Oakland gem. Grazie mille!

My experience at Mama Oakland was phenomenal. You truly can’t beat the price for a three-course meal, and every dish was a hit. The focaccia was outstanding, the asparagus and broccolini salad was fresh and flavorful, and the pastas, fried chicken, and artichoke were cooked to perfection. On top of the incredible food, the waitstaff were attentive, warm, and genuinely lovely. I highly recommend this spot and can’t wait to go back.

Have never had a miss even though the menu changes frequently. I have been coming here for five years with some regularity and truly always enjoy it. The wine list has some of the most thoughtful descriptions I’ve ever seen (and great options).

MAMA Oakland was amazing!!! Every dish was so flavorful. They put very much detail on my request. I’m vegetarian so they were able to provide vegetarian options very quickly and it was my Fiancée’s birthday so they brought the dessert with a candle just the way I requested. Highly recommend!!

The homemade pasta is better than the pasta I had in Italy! So delicious and fresh. The service was impeccable and everyone worked together like a well oiled machine. I feel like the ambiance is a little too cozy, I wish the tables and seating was more comfortable.

We opted this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and I am so glad we did. They have a 3 course fixed menu with few add on options. Even though they have such limited options, they ensure that every dietary restriction can be met with the available options. We started with the add on herbed focaccia bread which was served with mascarpone cheese and a house made jam. The bread was just perfectly baked and flavoured. We loved it. For the appetizer course we had chicken soup with butternut squash pieces. This was also a very well balanced dish and we loved it. For the main course we had a mushroom risotto and pesto pasta with ragu sauce. The risotto was delicious with a drizzle of truffle oil. The ragu sauce in pesto pasta added a very good flavor and my husband enjoyed it. He also ordered their famous meatballs and loved them. The portion sizes for the three course meal are enough to fill you up. We had to take the meatballs leftovers togo. For the dessert we had almond cake and espresso budino. Both the deserts were not overly sweet and had perfect balance. Overall we had a great experience and we will be looking forward to their new menu to go back and try it again.

Excellent set meals with an extensive and very tempting wine list. Service was spectacular. We sat outside which we enjoyed due to the cool fall air and low noise. Inside has a nice atmosphere but be ready to compete with everyone else’s conversations.
Highly recommend reservations

This may be the greatest restaurant in the entire world! You wouldn’t know it just by walking or driving by, but this Michelin star establishment has some of the best food in the entire world! And, it’s a three course meal, but it is extremely accessible in terms of price. The staff are incredible, and the environment is very welcoming and cozy. We literally go here to celebrate every major event in our lives (anniversaries, birthdays, you name it). Don’t sleep on MAMA!

Every dish managed to be both surprising and deeply comforting. The apple–leek–pork belly soup was layered and elegant, and the truffle tagliolini with egg yolk was just amazing: rich, creamy, and intensely flavorful without ever feeling heavy. Sitting at the chef’s counter was fun and impressive to watch the precision and care behind each plate. Service was attentive throughout. Looking forward to coming back and seeing where the next menu goes.
